Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Flight to Selous Game Reserve
Leave your Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam and head to the airport’s domestic terminal for your flight to Selous Game Reserve. The reserve is located in the western part of Tanzania and it a home to various wildlife species. You will have great aerial views as you enter the game reserve and go for game drives. After a lunch break, you will continue with game drives and in the evening enjoy an African sunset.
Day 2: Selous Game Reserve Exploration
On this highly anticipated day, you will head out in the morning to see the wildlife species the park has. Look out for game reserve predators like lions, Cheetahs, and birds as you enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. You can choose to have a picnic lunch in the wild or can have a hot lunch back at your lodge. In the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the Rufiji River where you will see hippos, crocodiles, and birds.
Day 3: Full Day Game drives
You can choose to have full-day game drives or go for a guided nature walk in the morning. Spend the afternoon go for game drives winding the day with the beautiful sunset. You can have this planned with your guide to fully optimize all the time you have here.
Day 4: Flight to Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, you will have a game drive and proceed to the airstrip for your flight to Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is another very expansive national park and therefore home to a variety of wildlife species. Arrive in time for game drives seeing Ruaha’s prides of lions, wild dogs, birds beautiful landscapes. This park is less crowded and offers great intimate and exclusive wildlife experiences.
Day 5: Game Drives
You will spend this day exploring the endless ecosystem of this vast national park viewing animals, birds, and plant species. Have a hot lunch break at your lodge or a picnic lunch as you enjoy the views of the park. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 6: Nature walks and Game drives
Have breakfast and go for wildlife expeditions this time with a guided nature walk getting closer to wildlife. You will end the day with game drives searching for wildlife you could have missed seeing the first two days.
Day 7: Departure
On this last day of your 7 days Tanzania wild south tour, you will have early morning game drives and see animals when they are usually very active. You will then exit the park for a transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar-es-Salaam.
