Tour Summary
Day 1: Head to Kibale Forest National Park.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Head to QENP
Day 3: Morning Game drives and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Day 4: Ishasha Game Drive and Head to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla tracking Tracking and Community Visit
Day 6: Departure.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Head to Kibale Forest National Park. (5 to 6 hours)
Start the day with a pick up from your hotel or airport for a drive to Kibale forest national park. It will take a 5 to 6 hours drive to the primate capital with the highest chimpanzee population. You will have en route stop overs for photography and proceed to your lodge for a rest. In the evening take a guided walk to Bigodi wetlands for birding and primates.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Head to QENP
Have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing ahead of the chimpanzee trek. You will be guided to the forest where you will meet chimpanzees, other primate like Vervet & Colobus monkeys. Have hot lunch at your lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the evening for a brief game drive.
Day 3: Morning Game drives and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Head out for an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers. This game drive takes 3 to 4 hours depending on your preference. Return to your lodge for a lunch break and later go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see crocodiles, hippos and a number of birds. You will later have a brief game drive or directly head to your lodge for a rest.
Day 4: Ishasha Game Drive and Head to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After breakfast, transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for tree climbing lions. You will have games drive in search for tree climbing lions and other wildlife species like Topis, water-bucks plus birds. If you are lucky you will see the tree climbing lions, have lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Day 5: Gorilla tracking and Community Visit
Transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla tracking then proceed to the forest for tracking. You will see other wildlife species in the forest especially birds, plants and some other primates like monkeys. Stay in the presence of the gorillas for strictly one hour and later return and head to your lodge. In the evening go for a community visit where you will discover more about the local peoples culture.
Day 6: Departure
On this is the last day you will be for transferred back to your Hotel or airport for departure depending on schedule.
