Overview
The 3 days Virunga tour enables you to explore Virunga National Park for mountain gorilla tracking. The park is home to several wildlife species but on this 3 days Virunga tour, you will concentrate on mountain gorillas. You will be able to see some birds as well while on the trek.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Gisenyi Border (Grande Barriere)
Upon arrival at Gisenyi Border (Grande Barriere), our representative will pick you up and transfer you to the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will have a lunch break in Goma city and transfer to Virunga National Park arriving in the evening for a rest at your lodge. Dinner and overnight in Kibumba Tented Camp.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
After an early breakfast at Kibumba Tented Camp, trekkers will head down the hill to meet their Ranger guides and have a briefing before the gorilla trek. Treks usually require 1-2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on the location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with the gorilla family group, trekkers will make their back to camp, enjoy a late lunch, and have the rest of the day at leisure, including time for nature walks and bird watching.
Day 3: Departure
After breakfast in Kibumba tented camp, you will be driven back to Gisenyi for drop off at the border and proceed to Rwanda or a hotel in Goma in case you intend to stay in DRC.
